Overview
SPIE Power Services provides comprehensive operations, maintenance, and project support for the RATCH Australia portfolio, including the Kemerton Power Station, Townsville Power Station, and significant windfarm assets.
The challenge
Managing a diverse portfolio of generation assets requires flexible, highly responsive technical support. RATCH required a partner who could execute major overhauls, navigate complex technical upgrades, and establish unified safety standards across multiple dispersed sites.
Our approach
We implemented an integrated approach to site management, standardising Permit to Work (PTW) systems and improving inventory management across the fleet. We successfully managed critical procurement, including sourcing long-lead components to prevent outage overruns, while maintaining a strong history of high safety standards.
The solution
We completed complex major overhauls, including rotor removals and the installation of a black start restart facility at Kemerton. At Townsville, we executed a major upgrade to install a Synchronisation Generator. Across the windfarm portfolio, we successfully completed in-house component replacements and integrated the sites into our 24/7 Remote Operations Centre.
